RAPHAËL ILIAS pratique la vidéo et le son, l’installation et la programmation. Attaché à une exploration autodidacte des techniques qui contourne et retourne les emplois préétablis, son travail oscille entre expérimentation plastique sur image ou son, et une réflexion plus conceptuelle et critique jalonnée de travaux jouant avec les objets culturels, protocoles et dispositifs techniques contemporains. L’envie de donner à ces recherches une dimension collaborative l’a conduit au partage de savoirs (workshops / brochures technico-politiques), à l’organisation d’évènements (diffusion d’art vidéo, performances), au commissariat et à l’écriture de textes (membre actif du Collectif Avant d’Avoir Un Lieu et de FORMES) concourant à mettre cette réflexion en action dans les espaces variés qu’offre un lieu.
Depuis 2011, il collabore régulièrement avec Florian Tositti, artiste sonore et percussionniste, autour de plusieurs projets sonores, dont notamment ‘DREAMMER’ et ‘Une pièce musicale’.
Issus d’un collectif informel d’improvisation, démarre aussi une collaboration avec Jacob Garet, sous le nom de RIJG, et également avec lui, la plate-forme de publications sonores VIBRATVACUUM.

RAPHAËL ILIAS works with video, sound, installation and coding. Engaged in a personal exploration of the technics that bypasses its preestablished uses, his practice oscillates between formal experimentation on sound and image, and a more conceptual and critical approach that plays with cultural artifacts, devices, protocols and technical dispositives. The desire to give these researches a more collaborative dimension led him to knowledge sharing (workshops / booklets), to organizing events (diffusion, performances) to curating and text writing (active member of Collectif Avant d’Avoir Un Lieu and FORMES), all of which contributing to make this thinking happen in the various spaces that the city offers.
